Addressing Power Needs on Campus - Electrical Outage March 22 - 23, 2014

Addressing Power Needs on Campus

In January, our electrical provider, Pacific Power & Light (PP&L), identified a failed power cable in the tunnel under Jefferson Street. To increase reliability and to create a redundant power source, this cable will need to be replaced. PP&L & Facilities Services have coordinated the scheduling of necessary power shutdowns to address this problem.  The period of spring break was chosen, to limit impact to Campus.

Dates & Times:  PP&L is expecting to need approximately 10 hours on Saturday March 22 (to remove and replace the old cable) and  8 – 10 hours on Sunday March 23 (to make up the ends).  Power will go off in the morning and back on at the end of each day.
