Building Ventilation

Ventilation in university buildings is an important aspect as we return to on-site. HVAC systems have been adjusted where possible to maximize fresh air and filtration, and HVAC operations follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers. Please see more details on the Campus Building Ventilation webpage.

Key Shop

As of March 22, 2021, the service counter for picking up keys from the OSU Access, Lock and Key Shop is relocating to the university ID Center, located in Memorial Union. This move offers students, staff and faculty expanded hours for key pick up at a more convenient location. Please check the ID Center's website for current service hours.

Process for Picking Up Requested Keys

  • Receive an email that your key(s) are ready to be picked up.
  • Go to the university ID center.
  • Show your OSU ID card to receive new key(s).

Keys should be returned to the issuing department; the ID Center will accept returned keys.

All other questions, concerns and issues about keys and locks should go to or (if a work order is needed).  ID Center staff will be unable to answer questions or concerns involving keys or locks.

Custodial Services

Facilities Services is committed to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness across the Corvallis campus facilities. Facilities Services and ABM, our custodial services contractor, are taking steps to reduce the possibility of exposure to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) on the Corvallis campus. At this time, ABM staff have adopted a specialized cleaning protocol due to reduced use of classrooms and offices on the Corvallis campus. Measures include:

  • Enhanced cleaning of high touch point areas, including doorknobs, light switches, telephones, elevator buttons, etc.
  • Sterilizing classrooms, including a thorough cleaning of all tables and chairs.
  • Cleaning interior windows and floors.
  • Testing and replacing electrical lighting bulbs.

As of January 30, 2020, ABM implemented an enhanced daily cleaning program and trained all staff on the enhanced levels of cleaning processes. ABM is using EPA-registered cleaners and disinfectants for frequently-touched surfaces (including doorknobs, light switches, telephones, elevator buttons, etc). ABM has also evaluated task frequency and has added frequency.
